Distribution: Found in the Mississippi basin from Minnesota and Wisconsin south to the Mobil basin and west to the Brazos river drainages of Texas.
Habitat: Occurs over sand to mud to silt bottoms in slow to moderate currents of small streams to large rivers.
Spawning Period: Spring to early Summer, little else is known.
Spawning Habitat: Little known.
Important Notes: This specie as well as so many others are declining within their range. It is now believed that the Mississippi Silvery Minnow is no longer present in Minnesota and eastern Tennessee.
